Norms
for Team Meetings
A set of norms for
interactions can enhance the work of team members during the Looking
at Student Work process within the STAR Cycle. Facilitators will often
hold a discussion about norms prior to launching the STAR Cycle, asking
participants to generate a list of norms to govern their interactions.
Some facilitators might choose to show teams a list of several norms
as a starting point to elicit ideas. Towards that end, we have provided
a list of norms below, divided into two categories: procedural
norms and collaborative norms.
Procedural
Norms
- Start and end
on time.
- Be prepared (especially
if you are the presenting teacher).
- Stay focused
on the task.
- One person talks
at a time.
- No side conversations.
- Maintain student
anonymity.
- Share responsibilities.
