There is nothing like a “surprise gift” to lift the spirits of team members and keep them engaged. One facilitator brings a bag of low-tech tools purchased with district funds to every team meeting. The presenting teacher can choose a gift from the bag at the start of the meeting. Not only is this motivating, it also has the added advantage of putting a “tool” out on the table during the discussion of instructional strategies that embed technology tools.
